Honoring Peter Wachiuri

The event was organized in honor of Mr. Peter Wachiuri, who recently made history by qualifying for the world championship 'The Modus Super Series'. Hailing from Ol Kalou, his success has turned the county’s focus toward darts, providing a unique opportunity for KAWE to engage the community.

The day began with an opening ceremony and a critical health talk on epilepsy. Participants from Nakuru, Kiambu, and Nyandarua counties were branded with epilepsy awareness merchandise, ensuring that every player became an ambassador for the cause.

Competition Structure

To ensure professional standards, a Darts Artisan was present to monitor dart weight and sharpness. The competition was split into two main tracks:

  • Male Category: 44 participants (11 groups of 4) competing through elimination stages.
  • Female Category: 12 participants (3 groups of 4) progressing to the finals.

The Outcome

"Most attendees acknowledged having very little factual knowledge about epilepsy. Many held myths and misconceptions. We successfully demystified these beliefs and demonstrated proper Seizure First Aid."
